Tools are often used in photography to enhance photos into incredible photos we all take an advantage of posting and showing off the people on WordPress or anywhere else. One tool I learned this year in photography is the Magic Wand tool. It is an important tool because it is useful for selecting large areas of the picture that has similar color. I used it be doing changes in the background. The effect it had was that it eliminated distracting or unnecessary parts of the photo. And I used it on one of my Artist Statement photos. A second tool I learned this year in photography is the Polygonal Lasso Tool. It is an important tool because it helps you select freeform areas of the picture, and edit it however you choose. I used it by doing freeform shapes within the picture, and editing that selected part by various different adjustments. And I used it on my close up to a person for one of the 20 architectural photos. A third tool I learned this year in photography is the crop tool. This tool is very useful and significant in photography because it helps eliminate unwanted objects in the background. It also can re-create an unprofessional photo into one that is amazing. I used it by selecting a size that I want the photo to be, and how I want it to look like. These three tools are few of the many essential tools we tend to always use when editing.

          We had so many projects done in this photography class, but out of all the projects we accomplished, my all-time favorite project was the “Admired Teacher Project,” because it was creative, different, and challenging. Also, this project was done on our own without partners to interfere with your photo shoots since the seniors were gone. This project involved taking 10 or more different portraits of your favorite teacher, and interviewing them with a few questions. Then, we would use one of his or her quotes on the final piece. My goal was to take at least one awesome and outstanding portrait of Mr.Prum, and to have a fun interview. My project turned out to be the best work I think that I had done all year.

          Photography is definitely going to remain in my life following the rest of my future, because I enjoyed photography ever since I was in elementary school and even more that I took this class at Lowell High School. There are many ways that I will use all of these tools that I learned in this class. Now that I have a new camera at home, I know how to use the rule of thirds with it. My digital camera has the rule of thirds grid in it. I can make better looking photos with interesting objects with this rule of thirds rule, because I have advanced camera skills too. For example, I can use macro mode to take close up photos of flowers. Secondly, I can use all the Photoshop tools to creatively edit my photos more professionally. I can crop, create brightness and contrast, black and white photos, sepia, partial B&W, etc. This would be useful in life, because it is fun and maybe I can sell photos I take to magazines some day. Thirdly, the Elements and Principles of Design will also be used in my future. I can create better texture, unity, shape, line, color, or emphasis on the photos I take. This will create great improvement, and I will be proud that I have better understanding with taking pictures. My photos would come out amazing with these tools.

Taking photos of nature is the most interest that I have, because nature is definitely one of the most amazing and beautiful subjects in this world. Photos of nature and people all convey a meaningful message, and that message is not specific but it can be based on anything. The photos that I take are based on everyday life, which is how we feel and most importantly, the emotions you hold inside of you is running through the camera.

Unique artwork like photography shows the individuality we all hold within our hearts, souls, and minds. It contains the unique feelings and emotions that we hold inside for the real life. It can show happiness or gloomy clouds. My photos are so different from everyone else’s only because they were taken by my own hands behind the camera. My goals and aspirations as a photographer may be different from some, but mutual to others. It just follows the quote, “ life to the fullest”, and all that is inspired by is just life itself.

(If I was a movie maker I would make a mysterious scene with adventure and secret missions, and for this project I decided to make it a mystery. The scene will take place at Lowell High School. First, it will take place in the computer lab in Room 142. Then, we will continue our way into the hallways and then outside of the building. There would only be natural lighting because the story is supposed to be out of the ordinary, and no one knew that it was going to happen. There will also be several different events. First, Flavia will be holding her bear, and she was so happy that she got it for a present. Then, she leaves the bear on the chair, but someone “bear-naps” it. That person writes a note on the chalkboard and leaves a ransom note also. She searches for clues in the hallway and found out that the bear was under a tree outside. So we go outside and the “bear-napper” is hiding behind the tree. We leave the ransom and take the bear.)

 I like the background in this portrait. It makes his clothing blend in, but his body stand out.

I like how this photo has bright lights edited into the photo. It makes it very unique and amazing. His bright clothing stands out and makes the whole portrait outstanding against the black background.
